In Queensland, the legal minimum VLT is 35% for all windows except the windscreen (which must allow 75% or more). Solar Gard VTX PRO is available in multiple VLT options that meet Queensland legal requirements. At Next LVL Protection, we only install Queensland-legal VLT unless the vehicle is not registered for road use.
Pricing depends on vehicle size and coverage selected. Contact us for a personalised quote.
Most standard car tint jobs are completed in 2–4 hours. A full car including windscreen may take up to half a day depending on vehicle complexity. You can wait at our Acacia Ridge studio or we can arrange drop-off.
We recommend waiting at least 3–4 days before rolling windows down. This allows the adhesive to cure fully. Rolling windows down too early can cause the film to lift from the edges. We'll confirm cure time at handover.
Solar Gard VTX PRO is a premium automotive window film manufactured by Solar Gard — a global film brand with over 50 years of product history. VTX PRO specifically refers to their high-performance nano-ceramic tint series, offering superior heat rejection versus standard dyed film. It's the film we use on every automotive tint job at Next LVL Protection.
A windscreen tint must maintain at least 75% VLT in Queensland — which essentially means a very light, almost clear film. We offer clear Solar Gard film for windscreens that rejects UV and reduces glare without visibly darkening the glass. Our Full Car + Windscreen package includes this.
Yes — particularly with a film like Solar Gard VTX PRO that has high solar heat rejection. Standard cabin temperatures in Queensland's summer can drop by 5–10°C with quality window film. The difference is most noticeable when entering a parked car on a hot day.
Film failure — bubbling, peeling, or discolouration — is covered by the Solar Gard authorised installer warranty for the life of your vehicle ownership. If you notice any failure, contact us and we'll assess and address it under warranty. Bubbling during the initial cure period (first few days) is normal and resolves as the film dries.

The Workshop Floor
Preparation
Every window is cleaned with a specialist glass cleaner to remove grease, silicone, and contamination. The gasket edges are inspected. This stage determines whether edges lift within months.
Application
Solar Gard VTX PRO film is cut precisely to each window, applied with a slip solution, and pressed with professional squeegees. No bubbles, no contamination under the film.
QC + Handover
Every window inspected before the car leaves. You receive cure instructions, a warranty card, and a walkthrough on what to expect in the first 5–7 days.

Aftercare
- Wait 3–4 days before rolling windows down — adhesive needs to cure.
- Avoid washing the car for 7 days after installation.
- If haze appears in the first few days, this is moisture curing — it resolves on its own.
- Use an ammonia-free glass cleaner on tinted windows. Standard glass cleaners can degrade the film.
- Do not use abrasive materials or razors on tinted glass.
Most tint shops use whatever film is cheapest that week.
